Have questions or concerns about HB Edge while away from our training session? Well, here is your parking lot. State your questions here, and we will bring them in for discussion for our next meeting, or we will address them by replying to your post. Remember, it's okay for cutting EDGE teachers to ask questions; that's how we all grow as educators...and the best part is, our students ultimately benefit from it.

Hi, guys! With this comment, you will see how they look online. I hope you are able to use this blog to obtain tips and share your ideas.
I also want to forgive you for my tag, "Mrs. Rodriguez, the teacher who loves you." That is my tag I set up last year for my student blog, and I forgot to change it for you all. LOL! Sorry
It was great working with you all today. Carmen and I are blessed to have crossed your paths. You all have a tremendous amount of talent, knowledge and true concern/love for students. Proud of you all!
See you tomorrow~
Hello Friends and thank you for all your assistance and wealth of information.
QUESTION
I am searching for a BLOCK schedule lesson plan form. This year will be our first year we use BLOCK at SMSH. I do not have a form to use. I looked at the forms on The Edge and do not think it meets the MDCPS standards. Please let me know if you can help.
Thanks,
Patricia
Take a look at the pacing guide. For block, you would take two days worth of plans and combine them. I teach two-hour blocks (which is a long time to have students in class), and I find that I have to switch it up every 15-20 minutes. Some activities I do only take about 5-10, while some take 30-45. It just depends on the class's pulse and the students' needs. The lesson planner on Edge is there to give you ideas for activities and show how the many resources can be used together...not necessarily serve as a time management piece.
I am revamping my Edge daily schedule and plans for this year and don't mind sharing it with you when I am done. Again, it's going to meet the needs of my kids, so you may want to modify it for your own students.
I promise this will ALL make sense after you have used Edge for a couple months, so keep your chin up! :o)
If I can help in any other way, please let me know.
Smile,
Christine
Patricia,
Check the left side of the blog. I put some resources there for you. You can use either or combine both, along with the lesson planner from HGEdge if you like.
Good luck. You will do great!
Hi-Christine, I left a comment on your class blog and just wanted to say again that you guys are great. I've created my own blog-spartanreaders-and I think I am on my way. Is it ok with you if I use your blog as a guide? It has given me some great ideas.
As far as edge goes, I will be ok once I get going. I feel more assured about EDGE than I did at the beginning of the week. So I have greatly benefitted from today's workshop. I will keep you posted and hope to visit your school in the near future.
Hi there! Great title for your blog...and of course you can use mine as a guide. I am sure yours will be rockin' in no time!!!!
You are very welcome for the help with Edge. Whatever you need, we are here for you.
Have a wonderful first week!!!
Smile,
Christine
